ANBERNIC continues its return to classic gaming consoles with another handheld device inspired by the legendary Game Boy Advance SP. The new ANBERNIC RG SP is now available for pre-order and aims to appeal to gamers who want modern hardware in an iconic foldable design.
The design of the new product will not surprise you. ANBERNIC RG SP is based on a very similar concept to previous models RG34XXSP a RG35XXSPIt features the familiar clamshell design, a button layout reminiscent of the original handheld console from Nintendo and a display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, which is especially suitable for classic handheld games.

Familiar hardware in a new package
Inside the device, there is equipment that matches previous ANBERNIC retro consoles. The heart of the console is a chip AllWinner H700 with four Cortex-A53 cores and Mali-G31 MP2 graphics. There is 1 GB RAM and 16GB storage via microSD card.
The manufacturer has opted for an operating system based on Linux, which is common for similar retro handhelds. The console is therefore mainly aimed at emulation older platforms, such as classic 8-bit and 16-bit systems or games from the era Game Boy Advance.

RG SP can be an interesting choice for players who primarily want a faithful modern version of Game Boy Advance SPThe question remains, however, whether this is a sufficient reason to buy. The previous models RG34XXSP and RG35XXSP offer very similar hardware and in some cases may be more practical.
The RG34XXSP in particular may make more sense for users who want broader emulation options, as it offers analog sticks and is better suited for more demanding systems, such as games from the era. PlayStation 1 or some later consoles. But for another part of the players, RG SP can be a way to remember the era of handheld gaming.
