- Media and codecs: Fix out-of-bounds write vulnerabilities in VC1, MPEG4 codecs and libsavsvc.so, libcodec2secqcelpdec.so and libcodec2_sec_flacdec.so libraries.
- Radio and SMS libraries: Handling stack overflow in libril_sem.so (SVE-2026-2525) and an error in libsmsd.so.
Some specific SVE items may have been included in previous maintenance packages, or may not be disclosed in detail at this time for security reasons.
Regular security patches may not be the most actionable news that you would eagerly count down the days for, but their importance is enormous. When I see that the August package addresses 8 critical vulnerabilities and fixes access to the system mailbox or the Contacts application, it is clear that something is happening under the hood.
