While Galaxy Z Fold8 bets on pocket emotions and unusual dimensions, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra It makes it clear from the first second who the boss is. It arrived at our editorial office for a test, so here are my first impressions of this Ultra machinery.

It is an uncompromising work tool. While a smaller Galaxy Z Fold8 takes risks and tries a completely new aspect ratio, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra represents evolution brought to perfection. If you have experience with the previous 7th generation, Ultra At first glance, the shape won't surprise you. But practically everything that used to annoy you has been improved. The performance is top-notch, the cameras are top-notch, even though on paper they still have room for improvement. The best part is that the phone is no longer huge thanks to its thickness, and this year it has also become slimmer between generations, albeit really decently. In this case, however Ultra it beats even the basic model.

I was there last year. Galaxy z Fold7 wrote that the display bend is miniIt's subtle and barely noticeable, meaning you practically don't notice it when you're working. Now you don't even know it's there. You only see it at a sharp angle and in ideal light. You can't feel it with your finger, unless it's extremely sensitive. When you consciously swipe over it, you still sense it's there. But once you start multitasking on the Ultra, you completely ignore it.

The internal display is a monstrous canvas

After playing with the Ultra in my hand for a while, I perceive it completely differently than the new one. Fold8. While with the smaller brother you are constantly deciding whether the external display in the 10:16 ratio suits you or not, with the version Ultra you get a full-fledged, adult smartphone. The external screen has great proportions, which you are used to from classic phones, and you can type on it completely naturally - without typos and without feeling cramped.

The price for this luxury is clear: Physics works both ways. You can't reach the outer display with one hand, and you'll definitely notice the phone in your pocket, especially due to its height. On the other hand, you get a 200 mAh larger battery for your money than the Galaxy Z Fold8, which, combined with more efficient cooling, can be exactly the difference between a full-day of towing and finding a charger sometime in the early evening.

But the real magic of the Ultra begins when you open it. The internal display is a monstrous canvas. Multitasking with two (or even three) windows side by side on the Ultra is light years different than on the Foldu8. Here the folding structure gives maximal sense for anyone who needs to work on the go. But be prepared for what was true last year: you have to say goodbye to an integrated or otherwise supported stylus. S PenSamsung preferred a thinner body and stylus support is unfortunately a thing of the past.

Where Ultra The thing that absolutely crushes its smaller sibling is the photo equipment. While the little one Fold8 you have to deal with the biggest limitation in the form of the absence of a telephoto lens and rely only on the dual 50MPx system, Ultra no "buts" allowed. You get a complete flagship sensor set, although the telephoto lens definitely doesn't reach the quality Galaxy S26 UltraIt simply wouldn't fit into such a thin body, even though the photo module is really massive.

But for the customer, a clear dilemma arises: Will you forgive the basic Fold8 its photographic compromises in exchange for compactness and lower price, or you reach for the "max"Immortal" Ultra? And to make it not easy, there is still Galaxy Z Flip8 for those who are satisfied with the smallest flexible Samsung.

So what is the final verdict from the second meeting?

The first was at the prebriefing, where I Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra played for about half an hour. I've had it in my hand for half a day now, and the picture on it hasn't really changed. Samsung took a risk this year and split up its flagship line of jigsaws. While the classic Galaxy Z Fold8 attacks emotions, compactness and tries to convince you that less is sometimes more, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra It's not playing around. It's the ultimate work and multimedia machine for the tech-savvy maximalists.

Yes, the dimensions and weight are noticeable compared to its smaller brother, but the difference in photo equipment and comfort when working in multiple windows is enormous. Let's wait for the final judgments until the review, but one thing is certain - if you are looking for a jigsaw without compromises and basic Fold8 is too big an experiment for you, Ultra is exactly the machine that will not disappoint you. It doesn't have much to offer, unless I mention the price tag.
