Developers WhatsAppare preparing other minor improvements that can significantly facilitate everyday communication. The application is adding a green indicator to profile photos, which will inform in real time whether your contact is currently online. The new feature has so far appeared in beta iPhone version of the app.
The upcoming feature is very simple. When one of your contacts is active on WhatsAppu, a small green dot will appear next to their profile photo. Once they leave the app or go offline, the indicator will automatically disappear. This will make it much easier to know if it makes sense to expect a quick response without having to keep track of when they last logged in. In the current beta, the green dot only appears when you open a specific contact's information. However, it is possible that Meta will expand its availability if the testing results are positive.
The new feature does not change existing privacy policies. If a user has disabled their online status or last activity information, the green dot will not appear on their profile at all.
