Today's smartphones are literally packed with features. It's a natural consequence of the never-ending race between manufacturers who try to outdo the competition at any cost, even if it means complete nonsense. In almost two decades of using Samsung phones, I've had a huge number of new features pass through my hands - many of which quickly fell into oblivion because they didn't make sense to me.
But sometimes it's good to give things a second chance. Here are three features that I initially thought were just marketing gimmicks, but over time have quietly convinced me of their indispensability.
Side panels
Sidebars are a long-standing feature in Samsung's interface. For years, I ignored them because I found them cumbersome and clumsy to use. But that all changed with the arrival of the update. One UI 8.5. Samsung has significantly improved this feature and added full support for landscape mode. This change has dramatically increased their practical usability. Today, I open the side panels every day, and when I pick up another phone that lacks this feature, it really annoys me.

Wireless Samsung DeX
Tool Samsung DeX It had its strengths in the past, but as long as it required a wired connection, it wasn't essential for me. The turning point came when Samsung launched wireless DeX. What initially sounded like a tempting gimmick for company parties turned out to be the best possible solution for work meetings. Running a presentation at work directly on the TV screen without having to lug my laptop around everywhere is incredibly convenient. Wireless DeX will win you over much faster than you might expect.

One-hand control mode
One-handed mode is a prime example of the “don’t judge until you’ve tried” rule. I never thought I’d need something like this, and most of the time I did. The real value of this feature came when I was standing in a crowded subway, one hand clutching a pole and the other desperately needing to control my phone. In situations like these, the ability to shrink the screen is invaluable.
