Google is moving its assistant Gemini another step further and this time it's heading straight into a space that most users know all too well - into Google PlayThe new feature allows you to search, discover, and in some cases even launch the installation of applications directly from chatu.
It sounds simple on paper: instead of browsing through a store, just write down what you need and Gemini will solve it for you. But as is often the case with such "accelerations", the reality is a bit more interesting. And not necessarily unambiguous.
What Google is changing Gemini?
New integration connects Gemini directly with Google PlayFor example, the user can write to chatFor example, if you're looking for a meal planning or productivity app, the system will offer you specific results. However, the installation itself still ends in the classic store interface – Gemini so it works more like clever middleman than a full-fledged installer.

In addition to applications, it can also search for specific items in applications or purchase digital gift cards. Google is thus further expanding its efforts to transform Gemini in the central control layer of Android.
How does installation work via chat?
In practice, it looks fairly straightforward. The user writes a request, Gemini offers a selection of applications and after selection opens a page in Google PlayFrom here, the standard installation continues. However, several conditions must be met for activation:
- age miniat least 18 years
- installed Google Play Store
- login to Gemini personal Google account
- "Keep Activity" feature enabled
Google also states that availability may vary by country and device. The feature is currently limited to Android, so iOS users can't access it.
Gemini saves time
This new feature has the greatest benefit for users who already Gemini actively use and want to save time searching for applications. In practice, however, it is not a revolution, but rather a more convenient layer on top of the existing Google Play.
The question remains whether it is faster to write a query in chator use the search in the store directly. Google is betting that the conversational approach will be more natural for some users – especially when traveling or searching for lesser-known apps.
One thing is certain: Gemini is gradually becoming the centerpiece of Android, and Google is clearly indicating where it wants to take its ecosystem. It won't always be faster, but it will definitely be a different way to control your phone.
