Vivo launches its latest foldable smartphone, the X, in China Fold6. The new device promises top-notch photography, high performance, a large flexible display, and advanced AI features. The manufacturer has also confirmed that the device will also be available on the European market later this year.
Top photo equipment from ZEISS
The phone's big draw is its photography setup, created in collaboration with ZEISS. The dominant feature is the 200MP main camera using a Samsung HPB sensor. It is complemented by a 50MP ZEISS APO periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, support for up to 100x zoom, and a macro mode with up to 20x magnification. The third lens is a 50MP ultrawide-angle camera. The vivo BlueImage V3+ image chip handles photo processing, while the ZEISS T* anti-reflective coating helps minito paint reflections.
The phone also supports the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 teleconverter with an equivalent focal length of 200 mm. Thanks to its compact dimensions and low weight, it allows you to take high-quality pictures of distant objects without significantly limiting your mobility. The equipment is complemented by vivo Refined Color technology for more natural portraits or Stage Mode 2.0 for recording concerts in 4K Dolby Vision.
Endurance, performance and durability without compromise
Power is supplied by a 7000 mAh BlueVolt battery using a modern silicon anode. It supports 80W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, and reverse charging of other electronics.
Inside the phone is the new Dimensity 9500 chipset, developed in collaboration with MediaTek. According to the manufacturer, its AI unit offers up to 111% more performance and at the same time can maxreduce energy consumption by 56% at minimum load.
There is also increased durability. The phone meets IPX8 and IPX9 standards for water resistance, IP5X for dust resistance, and the manufacturer claims trouble-free operation even at temperatures as low as −20 °C.
Large display and advanced AI features
The 8,02-inch main foldable display not only offers ample space for multimedia, but also more efficient multitasking. vivo Atomic Workbench can display up to five apps in series mode or four apps side by side at the same time. Moving content between them is a simple drag-and-drop.
The system also includes advanced AI tools that work directly on the phone. There is also an intelligent file manager, meeting transcription, and the ability to remotely control your computer via an AI assistant. The Chinese version uses the OriginOS 6 systemFold.
The new product will arrive in three colors variantahs – blue, white and black. The blue version draws inspiration from the deep blue abysses of the sea. The image is provided by two 120Hz LTPO displays – an internal Samsung M14 with a diagonal of 8,02 inches and an external BOE Q11 with a size of 6,51 inches. MaxThe maximum brightness of both panels reaches up to 5000 nits.
European launch confirmed
vivo has already officially confirmed that the X Fold6 will also be heading to European stores. The exact launch date, price, and available configurations have not yet been revealed, leaving everything to the European premiere. But it is already clear that European customers will be presented with one of the best-equipped foldable phones of this year.
