When we think of Garmin, most of us immediately imagine high-end smartwatches, cycling computers or navigation systems. However, the American brand also has an audio division called JL Audio under its wing, with which it is now entering the home audio segment. It has introduced the premium eight-inch JL Audio Pavilion Thin-Line subwoofers, which attract with their discreet design, extreme durability and the possibility of installation practically anywhere – from the living room to the outdoor terrace.
The main selling point of the new product is its compactness combined with uncompromising performance. The subwoofers use a special technology called Concentric Tube Suspension, which allows the driver to be significantly reduced in size without compromising the quality or depth of the bass. The result is a dense and clear sound at any volume level.
The installation is designed to be as unobtrusive as possible. The subwoofers are designed for wall or ceiling mounting and require a mounting depth of just 9,6 cm. Thanks to a special mounting system, they do not require their own dedicated enclosure or back cover plate, so they can be easily installed in a variety of materials.
They survive even harsh outdoor conditions
Garmin has built on its extensive experience in outdoor technology with the Pavilion series. The subwoofers are made from marine-grade materials and are designed to withstand the rigors of the outdoors. They meet or exceed ASTM industry standards for salt spray and UV resistance, so you can safely mount them by the pool, under a pergola, or on the facade of your home.
They blend in with every wall
To ensure that the technology does not disrupt the appearance of the home, the fine-mesh cover grid is attached magnetically and blends in with the surface. Customers can choose between a square or round shape in black or white. If that doesn't suit you, the grid can be painted over with regular wall paint to blend in perfectly with the surface. For new buildings and renovations, the manufacturer also offers special mounting brackets that make it easier to prepare holes during the rough construction and installation of drywall.
