Garmin has started distributing a software update for second quarter of the year 2026. Although the scope of this update is not as massive as the one in February, owners of selected watches and cycling computers have received several practical innovations. The update is primarily aimed at golfers, owners of the Instinct and cyclists using the Bosch ecosystem.

Garmin continues the trend of making advanced golf metrics available beyond its dedicated line ApproachModels like Venu 4, Vívoactive 6 or D2 Air X15 now gets support for premium tools as part of Garmin Golf subscription. Key update for a wide range of devices, including flagships Fenix 8, Enduro 3 and Tactix 8, is the integration of sensors Approach CT1 TAG. These sensors attach directly to clubs and automatically collect data on every shot. This gives users a complete overview of which club they have chosen in a particular situation and what real distances they achieve with it.

Instinct 3 catching up with others

Durable family watch Instinct 3, even in the Crossover AMOLED version, are now functionally catching up with their more equipped siblings thanks to the new software version. The most important addition is the Training Readiness function, which advises how much you can strain your body on a given day based on sleep and regeneration. In addition, the Mobility sports activity and a practical widget for monitoring stock markets have been added.

Garmin Q2 2026 update

Cycling computers Edge

In short, the cyclists didn't come either. A number Edge (specifically models 540/550, 840/850, 1040/1050 and MTB version) can now do without a mobile phone. Components and equipment management can now be done directly in the cycle computer menu. Adjusting mileage or adding a new part to the bike is now much faster.

The key message for e-bike owners is the full support of the Bosch smart system. Once paired with the e-bike, it can Edge display:

  • accurate battery status,
  • current power and cadence,
  • intelligent route calculation taking into account the remaining battery capacity.

The update is being released gradually and should reach users over the next few weeks. If you have it in your settings Garmin Connect or automatically updates are enabled on the device, the process will take place automatically in the background. Although these are minor improvements, for active athletes these "details" mean a welcome shift in comfort of use.
