Owners of Samsung smart TVs from 2023 have finally seen a major transformation in their living room. The company has recently started rolling out the update globally and on a large scale One UI Tizen (Tizen 9). This brings the modern look that users are familiar with from mobile phones Galaxy, but along with it came one unexpected problem: a small and difficult to read user interface.
The main goal of the Tizen 9 update is to unify the design language across the entire Samsung ecosystem. New fonts, icons, settings, and pop-ups now look almost identical to the original environment. One UI on smartphones. While this visual clarity feels modern, it encountered a technical hitch when transitioning from the phone to the big TV screen.
Many users complain after installation that the menu elements are now significantly smaller than in previous versions of the system, making it difficult to read the text from the comfort of the couch.

If you find yourself squinting to read an app name or setting after the update, there's an easy solution built into the system. Samsung has integrated a feature into the accessibility section that restores the necessary readability to the controls. Just follow these steps:
- Go to Settings.
- Select a section Facilitation.
- Activate the option Enlarge menus and text (Zoom Menu and Text).
This feature instantly enlarges the most important interface elements. Although it's an all-or-nothing solution (it doesn't offer a fine-grained range of size adjustments), it's a sufficient remedy for too-small icons for most users.

What else does Tizen 9 bring?
In addition to the visual redesign, the update focuses on better device connectivity:
- Improved Home Screen: New rows have been added for content selection and automatic app sorting.
- "Now Playing" panel: Replaces the previous "Recent" section and offers faster access to the content you've been watching.
- Agentic AI: With this upgrade, Samsung is paving the way for advanced AI features that are already standard on the latest model line 2026.
The update is rolling out gradually. If your TV from 2023 (e.g. popular models of the S90C or QN90C series) has not yet offered it, you can try checking manually in the menu: Settings > All settings > Support > Software update > Update now. If you don't see the update yet, just wait a few days - Samsung releases it in waves by region.
