Samsung introduced its best-selling phones in the world at the end of March. Galaxy A57 It is currently its most equipped mid-range model, but it has extremely strong competition. However, it has a lot of trump cards up its sleeve, so why should we give it preference over it?

Even when I saw Galaxy A57 on promotional materials, it looked really great: slim body, semi-transparent camera module, aluminum body, glass back. You can clearly recognize its predecessor in the phone, but it is a step further in both processing and overall dimensions. It is a joy to hold and use. The phone is simply fun and it doesn't matter at all that it is not top-class Galaxy S.

Design that will amaze you

Actually, I have to admit that I like it better. The massive output of the series cameras Galaxy S26 It didn't appeal to me in any way, but here Samsung plays with the glass used, its transparency, and I definitely see it positively that it's still more of a single block than a multiple output like in this year's top line.

We've known aluminum since last year, but it still manages to excite. This year, perhaps because of the graceful curves of the phone, which has slimmed down to a hard-to-understand 6,9 mm, which is even thinner than its waist. Galaxy S26, although you won't recognize the 0,3 mm in your hand of course. I also still like the Key Island, because it's already a characteristic element for the models of the series Galaxy A. And what I still don't like is the offset USB-C port. Because it's placed closer to the back, it's impractical if you have a cable with a thicker end. Even though there's a glass back, you won't find wireless charging here, it's just a matter of taste and in this regard Galaxy S25 FE clearly leads.

By the way, you'll love the weight. Considering how big the device has a display and that it's made of aluminum and glass, it's unbelievable. By the way, 179 g means that this is the lightest Galaxy A5x since the days Galaxy A50 (which weighed only 166 g, but also had only a 6,4" display). And there is one more meaningful improvement. Galaxy A57 It comes with IP68 water and dust resistance. Compared to IP67, this means the phone can withstand being submerged in water up to 1,5 meters for 30 minutes, rather than just 1 meter. While this may be a minor detail for most people, it shows some effort from Samsung to make sure your device just lasts.

  • Dimensions Galaxy A57: 161,5 × 76,8 × 6,9 mm, weight 179 g

You know the display, it will still please you

There's actually nothing happening on the display screen. nestHello. So there is a 6,7" AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 × 2340 pixel(which is 385 ppi) and an adaptive refresh rate between 60 and 120 Hz. But Samsung has worked on the bezels, which are significantly reduced. As a result, the screen-to-body ratio has jumped from 87,7% in the Galaxy A56 to 88,8%. The glass used is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ specification.

The display looks really good. It has great brightness (1,200 nits in normal use, 1,900 nits at peak) and colors. Direct sunlight still bothers it a little, but it won't limit you in any way. There is an optical fingerprint reader hidden under it. I have nothing to add to its accuracy, I'm satisfied.

Performance and fluidity approaching the elite

Samsung already did this with the previous model Galaxy A56 attempted to bridge the gap between mid-range and flagship (FE) ships, notably with surprisingly smooth environment animations. However, users still encountered occasional stutters, clearly indicating that for complete stability, it was still necessary to invest in expensive models of the series Galaxy S.

New Galaxy A57 However, thanks to the more powerful Exynos 1680 chipset and better software optimizations, this gap has been narrowed a bit more. Although the system is not 100% flawless, as minor hesitations can still be observed, for example, when opening the quick settings panel or when working with background navigation, these moments are now very rare. Most of the time, the device feels like a premium machine, which is great news for future owners.

In terms of raw performance, the Exynos 1680 promises a roughly 15% increase in GPU performance over the 1580. In practice, however, the difference is not revolutionary, just traditionally evolutionary. While high-end models like Galaxy S25 or S26 can handle the most demanding titles in full detail at 120 fps, Galaxy A57 in such cases, it falls below 60 fps. However, if you are satisfied with the default graphics settings, games like Call of Duty or Asphalt Legends actually run smoothly, which will be more than enough for most ordinary users.

The cooling system is interesting. Samsung has installed Galaxy A57 13% larger evaporation chamber, but the results are rather average in real operation. The reason is probably the thinner chassis of the phone, which partially negates the cooling efficiency. During long video recording or intensive gaming, the new product also heats up a little faster than last year's A56 model. However, this is not a major problem - the phone generally stays within similar limits as its predecessor and is rarely really unpleasant to the touch. Considering the higher performance in a more subtle body, this is a solid result. Just for the record: There is either 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128, 256 or 512 GB of storage. I had the basic 8/128 GB version for the test.

Is battery life a price to pay for higher performance?

Samsung has been touting "two-day battery life" for its phones for several years, which was the case with the model Galaxy A54 more of a marketing ploy than reality. Only Galaxy A56 was able to actually fulfill this promise. With the new Galaxy A57 However, the situation is a bit more complicated. Although the phone can easily handle a full day of heavy use, reaching the two-day mark is now only possible with very economical use - but I must add that in my case and during the time of testing the phone.

The slightly weaker results in my case compared to the predecessor are probably due to the smoother system and the use of the Exynos 1680 chipset, which has one more powerful core. However, the endurance can still be described as excellent. It is really difficult to discharge the phone in a single day. Moreover, it can be expected that the endurance will be slightly optimized after the system learns the user's habits.

However, nothing has changed in terms of charging speed. The phone still supports 45W fast charging (so more than Galaxy S26). Practical tests show that from 1% capacity you can get to 25% in 10 minutes, after half an hour the display shows 59% and you can reach almost full charge (96%) in an hour. A positive change is better compatibility with accessories. While the A56 model was quite sensitive to the quality and parameters of the cables used, Galaxy A57 It can easily handle common 3A cables that most users have at home.

The point of view is the absence of wireless charging. I understand all the objections to why Samsung doesn't put it here. But if they wanted to elevate the model even more, or if they ever cut corners and end the FE series, there's a clear path to follow. Galaxy Move A5x further.

Software and the (absence) of artificial intelligence

Galaxy A57 entered the market with Android 16 pre-installed and a superstructure One UI 8.5, the same base as the flagship series Galaxy S26However, although the phone is approaching the top models in terms of performance, it still lags significantly behind them in terms of software, especially in the area of AI.

Instead of a full package Galaxy AI, familiar to flagship owners, Samsung has deployed a solution called Advanced Intelligence. It is a set of features that, while useful, lack advanced sophistication. An example is photo editing: while Galaxy AI allows objects not only to be deleted, but also to be moved at will, Galaxy A57 you are left with just the deletion, similar to the older A55 and A56 models.

The only significant innovation compared to last year is voice transcription. However, it is functionally truncated and, unlike more expensive models, can only be used for recordings from a voice recorder or phone calls - and in supported languages. Other available advanced intelligence features in Galaxy A57 belongs:

  • Best face: Select the ideal shot from moving images.
  • Custom filters: Create camera filters based on your photos.
  • Automatic cutting: Extracting the most important moments from video clips.
  • AI selection: Capture parts of the screen with subsequent contextual suggestions.
  • Read out loud: Features for websites in Samsung Browser.

In other respects, the environment is no different from the standard that Samsung users are used to, with the exception of premium features such as desktop mode. Samsung DeX, which at Galaxy A57 still missing. In my opinion, logical. After all, it is a mid-range phone with a mid-performance chip. However, a big plus for future owners is the length of software support. Samsung guarantees six years of major operating system updates and security patches, which is simply awesome. Just so that it doesn't unnecessarily cut down on the features that new models will get over time.

Unfortunately, cameras are just a safe bet

In terms of camera hardware, it does not represent Galaxy A57 no major changes and takes over the setup from its predecessor. On the back we again find a 50MPx main sensor, which is supported by a 12MPx ultrawide-angle lens and a 5MP macro camera. The quality of the resulting images remains at a similar level.

In daylight, you can count on a wide dynamic range and accurate color reproduction. The phone also delivers solid results in the dark, if you rely on the automatic night mode. While the wide-angle sensor is usable in good light, provided you forgive it for blurring the sides, its quality drops rapidly as the light fades. The macro lens remains more of an accessory for short-term experimentation, which most users will stop using over time. Instead, use the 2x zoom, which delivers surprisingly good results.

This year, a dedicated telephoto lens is noticeably missing in this price category. I would immediately throw out both of the lenses I used, which are useless anyway, and add a 3x optical zoom. It is still so obvious that Samsung is deliberately protecting its higher-end models with this step, even though the competition in this segment already offers optical zoom.

However, a significant positive is the overall responsiveness of the camera app. Thanks to improvements that began with the previous generation, the shutter lag is miniThe camera is very smooth and switching between lenses is very smooth, and it has also been redesigned and is relatively fast. The front camera with a resolution of 12 MPx is identical to the one in the model Galaxy A56 and there's not much to write home about it. It still produces good self-portraits with decent dynamic range, both outdoors and indoors.

There has been no progress in the area of video either. MaxThe only difference is that the resolution remains 4K at 30 fps and there is no support for HDR recording. Although Samsung emphasizes advanced sensor technology for richer colors in its advertising, in practice it is more of a marketing term. The resulting video is qualitatively sufficient for everyday needs, but it will not surprise demanding users with anything fundamental.

The king of the middle class with premium ambitions

Samsung Galaxy AThe 57 is undoubtedly the best model in the series Galaxy A, which has ever seen the light of day. Samsung has managed to create a device that feels more luxurious in the hand than many flagships, mainly thanks to the extremely slim body and precise processing of aluminum and glass. If you are looking for a phone that looks great, has a great display and is guaranteed software support for an incredible 6 years, there is no reason to look beyond Galaxy A57 hesitate.

Who is it for? Galaxy A57 ideal?

  • For those who appreciate premium design and low weight.
  • For users looking for maxultimate security in the form of IP68 water resistance and long-term support.
  • For anyone who wants a fast-paced environment One UI, but doesn't need to spend on a series Galaxy S.

On the other hand, it must be admitted that there is no revolution in photography this year - the absence of a telephoto lens and the unnecessary persistence with a macro sensor, which only increases the price, are freezing. The price set for this year is also confident, and the phone is thus dangerously close to the model Galaxy S25 FE, which offers wireless charging, full-featured Galaxy AI, telephoto lens and a more powerful chip.

Galaxy A57 is nevertheless a great machine, with which Samsung has bet on aesthetics and fluidity. If you take advantage of introductory bonuses or discounts at retailers such as Mobil Pohotovost, its purchase makes a lot of sense. It is an honest evolution that does not scream revolution, but in everyday use you will simply enjoy it. And I really enjoyed the phone.
