You probably know it too. You want to send someone a short video of a specific post on social media without sharing it, or show an error in an app or a setup process, but you don't want them to see your private messages in the bar, battery status, or carrier name and any other information. Samsung previously didn't allow you to record only a part of the screen, which is something that many fans Galaxy has been wishing for years. And the Korean giant has finally heard them. This upgrade now brings the latest betaversion One UI 8.5.
Until now, screen recording on devices has been Galaxy an "all or nothing" process. If you wanted to hide sensitive data, you had to laboriously edit the video in the Gallery after uploading. With the arrival of the latest 4. betaversion One UI 8.5 ends. Known leaker Ice Universe on social network X showedHow the new option to record just part of the screen instead of the whole thing works on your phone Galaxy S25 Ultra.
When you start screen recording, One UI 8.5 offers the option to record the entire screen or just a portion of it. If you choose the latter option, the phone will try to identify the part of the screen to record, but you can also define it manually. The fact that the new beta One UI 8.5 does indeed offer this option, the Android Authority website later confirmed.
It is worth noting that the ability to record only part of the screen is available on OnePlus smartphones and computers with operating systems. ChromeOS, MacOS and Windows, however, this feature is not part of Android itself. It is all the more valuable that it is brought by an add-on One UI 8.5. This is a useful improvement, especially on devices with large displays.
