Samsung makes some of the best TVs on the market — they have great pictures, sleek designs, and feature-rich features. But there are some practical tweaks that could improve their performance even more. Here are four of them.
More memory and internal storage
Current models, even the more expensive ones (e.g. the S90C QD-OLED), only offer 4GB of internal memory. This is insufficient for modern applications and content storage. The company should increase the base storage to 16GB, which will allow users to install more applications, store offline music, and use features without warning about running out of space. Premium models above $1,000 should then have up to 64GB of storage space and increased RAM. The result would be smoother operation, fewer lags, and a longer system life.
Background music
Today's Samsung TV will interrupt music playback, e.g. via Spotify or Apple Music, when returning to the home screen. These limitations are overcome, especially when the competition (Google TV, tvOS) allows music to play in the background. Adding this feature would make Samsung TVs work similarly to smartphones or other streaming platforms.

Option to stop video autoplay
When you return to the home screen or adjust settings, the TV often starts up on its last selected source – whether it’s HDMI, an app, etc. This can be distracting, especially if you just want to quickly change settings or select different content. A simple solution? Add the option to turn off autoplay. This would give the user full control over when a video starts, and make the TV feel much more intuitive.
4K HDR screensaver support
Current Ambient Mode screensavers are SDR and their playback is tied to an online stream, which reduces image quality. Samsung could offer the option to download 4K HDR videos with landscapes, cityscapes, or abstract loops. Installing screensavers locally or having the option to play a single theme repeatedly would greatly improve the visual impact and decorative use of the TV.

Although Samsung TVs offer top-notch hardware and feature-rich features, there is still room for improvement. These steps are not technologically demanding, but they would make a noticeable difference in daily use, making it more efficient, flexible, and enjoyable for all types of users.
