Samsung launched its new "budget flagship" in early September Galaxy S25 FE. That oproto last year's predecessor Galaxy S24 FE It brings several nice improvements and overall it is another very good "flagship" in the portfolio of the Korean giant. Let's take a closer look at it in our review today.
Package Contents: What You Would Expect
Galaxy The S25 FE comes in a sleek black box with a white silhouette of the phone on the front. More important, of course, is the packaging itself, which is not surprising. As with other phones Galaxy In it you will find only the most necessary things, i.e. in addition to the device itself, only a charging/data cable with USB-C terminals, a needle forya SIM card slot puller and a few user guides. As you probably already know, Samsung and other smartphone manufacturers cannot include a charger in the package due to an EU regulation from last fall, so we don't blame the Korean giant. However, there's nothing stopping it from at least including a basic case or screen protector. ProWhether you like it or not, the packaging is the manufacturer's calling card and it says something about it. And it tells us that Samsung wants to save money on it at all costs.
Design and workmanship: This is Samsung prohundred can
The strength of Samsung smartphones has always been design and Galaxy The S25 FE just confirms this. The phone has a familiar look – a flat display with thin bezels and a circular notch at theprocenter and three separate cameras on the back. Unlike its predecessor, the bezels are slightly narrower and the phone is slightly thinner, specifically at 7,4 mm at the waist (vs. 8 mm), and also significantly lighter, weighing only 190 g (vs. two g). The overall dimensions are 161,3 x 76,6 x 7,4 mm – aboutproCompared to its predecessors, the phone is not only thinner, but also slightly smaller in height and width. (pwhile maintaining the same display diagonal).
The back is matte this time, which adds elegance to the smartphone. We tested the black color version. variantu, and the phone is also available in three other colors - dark blue, light blue, and white.
Regarding processing, Galaxy The S25 FE has an aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the back, and is IP68-certified, meaning it can withstand immersion in water up to 1,5m for 30 minutes and is dust-proof. Of course, there's no creaking or squeaking anywhere, and everything fits perfectly, as you'd expect from a Samsung phone. As with Galaxy S24 FE The only downside here is that the phone wobbles on the table due to the separate cameras, but not that significantly.
The display is not faulty.
Galaxy S25FE It features a 6,7-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and a peak brightness of 1900 nits. These parameters seem exactly the same as in the case of Galaxy S24 FE, right? However, there is one rather fundamental difference, which is hidden in the word LTPO (abbreviation pro Low-Temperature Polycrystalline OxideThis technology pro OLED panels allow variavariable refresh rate, from 1-120 Hz depending on what is currently displayed. Display Galaxy S24 technically also has variaThe refresh rate is adjustable, but it only switches between 60 and 120 Hz modes. "More detailed" variaaverage refresh rate at Galaxy The S25 FE thus saves significantly more battery. With this feature, Samsung has brought its current "soon-to-be-flagship" even closer to full-fledged flagship models.
As for the screen quality itself, it is expectedly onprotop notch. This means perfect sharpness, excellent color reproduction, great viewing angles and impeccable readability in direct sunlight. Let's add that the display is protected by the same glass as the back and that it has an integrated optical fingerprint reader, which worked completely reliably during our testing.
It has more than enough power
Galaxy The S25 FE is powered by the Exynos 2400 chip that debuted in last year's flagship lineup Galaxy S24 (or rather, it was used by international variamodels Galaxy S24 and S24+). It is still very fast, as proven by the benchmarks – in AnTuTu the phone scored 2,113,083 points, and in Geekbench in the single-core test 1,975 and in the multi-core test 6,526 points. Its performance is still enough for graphically demanding games, such as Shadowrun Legends and Battle Prime, which we tested and which ran completely smoothly on the phone. However, during prolonged gaming, the smartphone, like its predecessor, got quite warm (this also applies to full-fledged models, not just “fan” ones).
As in Galaxy The S24 FE, which uses the slightly slower Exynos 2400e chipset, has a response Galaxy The S25 FE are snappy, nothing "bites" anywhere, in short, everything runs like clockwork, whether it's movement in procenter, launching applications, or multitasking. Let's add that the chip is supported by 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal memory (we tested 256GB variantu).
Stamina slightly better than last year
Galaxy The S25 FE draws power from a 4900 mAh battery, which is a year-on-year increase of 200 mAh. ProDoes this show up in practice? Yes, but very little. While Galaxy S24 FE during normal use, which in our case means permanently turned on Wi-Fi, several hours of gaming and occasional photographing or video recording lasted about a day and a quarter, its successor can handle it a few hours longer. However, unless you measure the endurance precisely, you will hardly notice this improvement in practice.
Galaxy The S25 FE alsoprothose predecessors charge faster as they support 45W charging (vs. 25 watts). In practice, however, this is again only a small improvement – from 0–100 % the phone charges in about an hour, i.e. approximately 15 minutes faster. It is worth adding that the smartphone supports 15W wireless charging (compatible with Qi2 Ready standard) and reverse wireless charging.
One UI 8: In the sign of smaller, but all the more useful news
Galaxy S25FE software runs on the superstructure One UI 8, which is based on Android 16. That's aboutprothose superstructures One UI 7 brings rather smaller, but all the more useful, innovations. Among the most significant is a new clock style with a new font, which debuted in this year's puzzles. Galaxy Z Fold7 to Z Flip7, function redesign Quick Share, which now has a clearer interface, separate tabs pro sending and receiving files and more flexible attachment options, a redesigned Weather app that is now much more visually appealing and has new smoother animations that respond to the current weather, a recommended wallpaper feature from the gallery that suggests images pro home or lock screen wallpaper, automatic sorting screenshotinto categories in the Gallery, integration Live updates from Android 16 and the Read Aloud feature, Modes and Routines, and YouTube apps to the Now Bar, and last but not least, the new 90:10 aspect ratio and the live call transcription feature called Call captions. As you would expect, the software package includes a full suite of AI features Galaxy AI.
In some Samsung apps, such as Gallery, there have been minor UI changes, such as circular buttons in menus, and the extension also uses a new background blur effect, but otherwise it looks practically the same as One UI 7, it's just fine-tuning it. Samsung promised the phone seven years of software support, i.e. seven major system updates and seven years of security updates.
It takes photos and videos just like its predecessor, very well.
Galaxy The S25 FE has exactly the same rear camera setup as its predecessor, i.e. a 50MPx main camera, an 8MPx telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 12MPx ultrawide-angle lens with a field of view of 123°. The main camera can record videos in up to 8K resolution at 30 frames per second.
Given the same parameters, the phone takes photos and videos just as well, i.e. comparable to flagship smartphones from a few years ago. To be more specific, the main camera in the daytime proIt produces very nice looking sharp images with a lot of detail, more than solid dynamic range and fairly accurate resolution.procolor reproduction. Even at night, the quality of the photos is very good – they are sharp enough and probright and relatively true to color.
Daily videos (shot in 4K resolution at 60 fps) are pack also good, they have minilow noise, high level of detail, solid dynamic range and colors are quite close to reality. However, at night, the quality of the recordings is unconvincing, as with its predecessor, they are too noisy and details are lost in them, not to mention proproblems with focusing. We can therefore hope that Galaxy The S26 FE will finally bring some improvement in this regard.
As for the front camera, it has been improved year-on-year - it now has a resolution of 12 MPx. (vs. 10 MPx) and it probably goes about the sameThe sensor that Samsung has used in the series Galaxy S25 (except that it doesn't have autofocus). The quality of selfies is slightly better year-on-year, but it's quite difficult to tell at first glance. Let's add that the front camera can record videos in up to 4K resolution at 60 fps.
A successful "budget flag" with welcome improvements
So let's summarize it nicely - Galaxy S25FE is, from our point of view, a very successful "budget flag", whichproti Galaxy S24 FE brings some welcome improvements, such as a thinner profil, lower weight, deeper variaIt has a faster display refresh rate, a larger battery, and faster charging. However, it should be noted that the improvements in battery life and fast charging are very small, almost symbolic. Thanks to the matte back, it also doesn't slip out of your hand like its predecessor, which pro It may be important to someone.
There are not many cons, one of them is maxat least 256GB of storage, which is the capacity phones are limited to Galaxy pro middle class. It certainly wouldn't hurt Samsung to offer 512GB of storage on a smartphone that is definitely not middle class. variaAnother downside is perhaps excessive heating during longer gaming sessions. and the unconvincing quality of night videos.
If you are the owner Galaxy S24 FE, the upgrade is probably not worth it despite the above-mentioned improvements, but in the case of older "fan flags" it is worth considering. Galaxy We would generally recommend the S25 FE to those looking for a well-designed and well-equipped smartphone that will last a long time and won't cost them a fortune. Its price is now more than reasonable - even though Samsung offers it for almost 19 thousand CZK in its official e-shop. (exactly from 18 790 CZK), which is not a small amount, it is possible to get it for several thousand cheaper.
