Application AI goal has been seeing a huge surge in popularity recently. As of October 17, the number of daily active users of the app on both Android and iOS had risen to 2,7 million. That's a big jump from around 775,000 users just four weeks earlier.

App installs are also growing rapidly. While a few weeks ago there were fewer than 200,000 new downloads per day, today there are an average of about 300,000 new downloads per day.

This turnaround is impressive, especially considering that Meta AI was barely known in late 2024, with only about 4,000 daily installs. Similarweb analysis found no significant changes in search or advertising activity related to this increase.

However, Meta may be promoting the app on Facebook or Instagram, which isn't reflected in the data. Whatever the reason, this spike suggests that the social giant's AI is finally gaining traction with users.

However, something else may be behind this increase, specifically a feature called Vibes. This feature was launched by Meta in the app September 25, coinciding with the surge in activity. Vibes introduces short films generated by artificial intelligence to Meta AI, providing users with a more innovative and visually engaging experience.

According to Similarweb data, the app’s popularity began to increase immediately after the feature was launched. This is not surprising given that AI-generated videos are one of the biggest trends in AI right now, and Meta’s version allows users to easily experiment with them in an app they already know.
