Galaxy Z Fold7 has many advantages. Compared to previous models, however, it has enlarged its displays, which also have greater demands on the battery, which, on the other hand, remained at 4mAh. So does the consumption of the currently most efficient Android chipset balance this?
The fundamental reduction in thickness, the enlargement of the displays and the retention of the battery with the same capacity have nevertheless raised some concerns about how much the new Galaxy Z Fold7 will do it before it runs out of juice. But now we have the answer, and it's actually very positive: Galaxy Z Fold7 will last longer jak Galaxy Z Fold6 and noticeably more, as Galaxy Z Fold5.
Galaxy Z Fold7 vs. Galaxy Z Fold6
At least that's what emerges from a fairly aggressive test conducted by YouTuber Lover of Tech. The test included tasks such as recording 4K video, browsing Instagram and TikTok, playing YouTube, streaming music, etc. Of the aforementioned trio, the last FoldI am Galaxy Z Fold7 took first place with a total screen time of 5 hours, 36 minutes and 31 seconds. It also maintained the lowest temperature under load, which is quite surprising given the narrow profile of the device, but on the other hand, I make up for it with a larger body circumference.

- Galaxy Z Fold6: 5 hours, 15 minutes, 15 seconds
- Galaxy Z Fold7: 5 hours, 36 minutes, 31 seconds
It's not amazing, but it's sufficient.
Of course, there are devices on the market with significantly longer battery life. After all, this test was also quite specific and demanding on the device in a way that really put a strain on it. However, considering how thin the device is, these are very nice values. If you upgrade to the new z Foldu6, you probably won't notice any significant increase in endurance. Compared to previous generations, it may be a nice leap. Samsung has simply done quite well in optimizing the hardware with software, and it deserves recognition for that.
