Models Galaxy The A3x is one of Samsung's best-selling phones, and it's not hard to see why. At first glance, it looks like a more expensive model, even though there are a few more compromises inside. But on the other hand, the lower price is also a good thing.

If there's one thing Samsung deserves credit for, it's the design of its new models. Galaxy A. Comparing the middle class to the top class was a bit of nonsense – especially for the owners of the series Galaxy S. So here Samsung learned a lesson and Galaxy A36 (as well as Galaxy A26 and A56) is already going its own way, dominated by the camera module. It is not far from that in Galaxy Z FoldWell, it's still very different and especially black.

New and attractive look

The new module also has the advantage that when using a cover with a single cutout for the lenses, dirt will not accumulate unnecessarily between them. With Galaxy The A35 has an identical frame, even with the Key Island element around the volume buttons and the power button. The use of plastic has remained, and the back is glass here too. Personally, I don't consider it a win. If I could choose, it would be Galaxy A36 even lighter, cheaper and more durable, I definitely wouldn't mind a plastic back. Plus, there's no wireless charging, so it's just an eyesore.

However, it is true that the eye really likes it. Especially the Awesome Lime color we tested, which has an interesting prismatic effect, is very interesting. It changes depending on the light. For some, it may be wild, but those who like it will find it their own. The body itself has grown compared to last year's model (which is due to the larger display), but it is fundamentally thinner and lighter. By the way, the display is covered by Gorilla Glass Victus and the entire phone is characterized by the IP67 specification for dust and water resistance.

  • Dimensions: 162,9 x 78,2 x 7,4 mm
  • Weight: 195 g

The display is bigger, but it lags

Although you design Galaxy A36 While it's generally commendable, the same can't be said for the display. On the one hand, it's nice to find a 6,7" FHD+ AMOLED display adorning an affordable phone - including a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate (it can also be switched between 60Hz), which ensures smooth scrolling and animations, but its muted and lackluster color rendition is hard to ignore.

On the one hand, it is commendable that the display has grown by 0,1" between generations and has received 200 nits of additional brightness (in HBM it is 1200 nits), but there is also visible distortion at wide viewing angles, even more so in the sun. But you will be satisfied indoors. The frames are also constantly getting smaller, so even the lower "chin" is no longer so pronounced. Of course, with the models Galaxy It can't stand comparison, but the effort is appreciated.

The performance you expect

It doesn't tear up asphalt and it's not supposed to. You have to be in a higher league for that. The question is whether the use of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip in this model is optimal or underestimated. But the answer is not complicated, just ask yourself: "How are you doing today?" Galaxy A35? So add 8% of the power to that and you get the result, how much will it cost you? Galaxy A36This is a value given directly by Samsung, so even though there is an increase in CPU, it is of course not staggering.

It's more complicated with RAM. With the 128GB model you only get 6 GB, with the 256GB you get 8 GB. We test the higher variantu and we probably wouldn't recommend a lower one out of selfish concerns about overall performance. Basic tasks like navigating the interface and launching apps are no problem at all for the phone and thanks to the 120Hz adaptive refresh rate everything looks beautifully smooth, the funny thing is that it's actually better than, say, the iPhone 16 with a 60Hz screen (until you fill up the memory and the phone starts to choke).

It is always harder to evaluate the performance of "cheap" phones than of the top ones. A lot depends on your use case and requirements, while the higher ones are often criticized if they do not handle something as expected. Here you simply cannot expect miracles and rather hope for surprises, what else the phone can do. And it is true that it can do a lot. But let's get back to that memory. Galaxy A36 has a major drawback compared to previous models in that it does not offer a microSD memory card slot. This is another reason to think ahead and invest in a higher memory capacity. varianty.

Same battery, faster charging

This is also true in the area of the battery. It is still 5mAh, but we have jumped from 000W charging to 25W, which is not even Galaxy S25 or Galaxy S25 EdgeIn this regard, paradoxically, the middle class shows them their backs (however, it is true that both S series models have smaller battery capacities). In a quarter of an hour, you can charge the phone to about 35%, but in half an hour you are already at 70%.

Plus: The energy efficiency of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip allows you to get Galaxy A36 more on a single charge, thanks to optimization with One UI 7. Of course, it's a question of how it will be in the future, but for now, the phone will last you a day with ease, a day and a half without major limitations, two if you are an undemanding user.

The best possible system

When we've had a bite One UI, So Galaxy A36 runs straight out of the box on Android 15s One UI 7, which has already received an update with integration Gemini into the power button. It is the same system as in Galaxy S25, but it is of course truncated, especially about the possibility Galaxy AI. But intelligence is here, albeit in a light form, when Samsung calls it the series itself: Awesome. Logically, DeX is also missing, although the phone can work with two applications on one screen.

Awesome Intelligence includes: an object eraser to remove unwanted objects from photos, the ability to create your own filters, reading web pages aloud through Bixby, and an AI Select tool that can, for example, convert videos to GIFs. I would say these are useful features, but they are more or less tools that can replace third-party applications, only you have them right there in the system.

What is certainly worth mentioning is that Samsung's new models Galaxy And it's improved software support from four to six years of system and security updates. That's a dramatic increase that should help your phone last a really long time.

Cameras are classics

There is a typical trio here, where the main camera is complemented by the ultrawide-angle and macro. So you can take photos at 0,5x, 1x, 2x zoom and 10x digital zoom. It is advisable to activate the macro mode through the More menu, where you can find it. However, its results are directly affected by the quality of the sensor, which is simply not great. It is necessary to take into account that it is only there in numbers, although some results can surprise (depending on the scene).

Galaxy A36 Cameras

  • Main: 50 MPx, f/1,8, 1/1,96", PDAF, OIS
  • Ultrawide angle: 8MP, f/2,2, 123˚, 1/4,0", 1,12µm
  • Makro: 5MPx, f/2.4
  • selfie: 12MP, f/2.2

The 50MP main camera performs quite well. It mostly has the same exposure across the entire frame, but zooming in on a part of the photo reveals less sharp detail in more complex scenes. This is the camera you should primarily use and you will generally be happy with it. Given the blurring of objects in virtually all scenes shot ultraI don't see a reason to use it with a wide-angle camera. 2x zoom is a bit much, but it has good processing, so there's no need to worry about it, which is quite a surprise to me. Don't expect miracles when taking pictures at night, and avoid it altogether.

All's well that ends well, just like Galaxy A36

Galaxy A36 is a well-designed phone that meets most of the needs of the users it is intended for. Compared to its predecessor, it is better in terms of battery life and charging speed, has a larger display, a thinner body, and still improved cameras and performance. If you close it in the cover, you will not even care that it has a plastic back and if you are switching from an older mid-range Samsung, you will forgive its limitations in terms of display quality.

At the end of the review, a question is appropriate: would I Galaxy A36 After a long test I bought it myself. I didn't buy it because my requirements are in the range Galaxy S. But I would buy it for my father, mother and even my children. If a regular user asked me for my opinion, I would have no reason to invest in it. Galaxy A36 to talk, I would just recommend that if it wouldn't be more worthwhile for him Galaxy A56But you all have to calculate that yourself.
