Shortly after Samsung started releasing a stable update One UI 7, users have also started to complain about shorter battery life on their updated devices. There are a few common settings that can help you extend the life of your Samsung phone, but there is also one advanced trick that will extend battery life much more noticeably.
Common practices include turning off the Always-On Display or optimizing basic system services like display brightness, dark mode, or refresh rate. Then, of course, there’s Power Saving Mode. But Android phones have a recovery mode that’s essential for fixing potential software issues. Samsung phones require a desktop or laptop to access this menu. Doing so will clear out all the temporary files stored on your phone, which will also extend battery life and improve the overall performance of your device.

How to wipe your phone's cache via recovery mode
- Connect your phone to your desktop/laptop via USB-C connector. You don't need to do anything on the computer, just access the hidden recovery mode for further operations.
- After connecting the device, turn it off and wait 15 seconds.
- At the same time press and hold the power button and the volume up button. When the phone vibrates gently and the Samsung logo appears, release the buttons.
- You have now entered recovery mode, which can only be controlled using physical buttons. The volume up and down buttons are used to navigate up and down, while the power button is used to select/confirm.
- Use the volume down button until you reach the option Wipe Cache Partition (delete partition cache) and then press power button.
- Confirm the cache wipe using the Volume Up button, select “Yes" and press the power button again.
Your phone's cache is now cleared and you can restart your device. The restart will take about a minute and you may experience some lag and optimization activities initially. After a few minutes, your device should start to run much better. Clearing the cache will not delete any photos, videos, audio, or any other files from your phone.
Jojo 🙂 It's best to turn off your phone 🙂
