Google kicked off its I/O 2025 developer conference on Tuesday. Here's a summary of all the major news the American giant announced at the event for Samsung fans.
Google specifically introduced the following significant innovations at I/O 2025:
- Emails your way with AI: Gmail will soon get personalized Smart Replies, which will create replies in your own style and tone, taking cues from your past emails and files (with your permission, of course). This new feature will be available to subscribers this summer.
- Best trick Gemini Live free for everyone: What was previously exclusive to series users Galaxy S25 and S24, is now expanding. Google announced that the camera and screen sharing feature within the conversational assistant Gemini Live will be available for free to everyone, including iPhone users.
- New Try it on feature: Google has introduced a new feature called Try it on that allows users to try on what clothes they are interested in while shopping online. All they need to do is upload a full-body photo.
- Live translation in Google Meet: Google is adding live translation to its Meet messaging service. Currently, only two languages are supported: English and Spanish, but more are expected to be added in the future, including Italian, German, and Portuguese. The feature requires a subscription to the new Google AI Pro or Google AI plans. Ultra.
- Project Moohan headset coming this year: The augmented reality headset codenamed Project Moohan, which Samsung and Google are collaborating on, will be officially unveiled later this year, as previously speculated.
- Smart glasses: Samsung and Google will also release smart glasses for augmented reality, which will be (just like the one mentioned headset) run the Android XR operating system. And like the headset, they will also support the assistant Gemini.
As you can see, Google is betting big on artificial intelligence, more specifically on its assistant. Gemini. This one is on devices by the way Galaxy with superstructure One UI 7 is integrated into some native apps like Calendar or Samsung Notes, and will soon be available in Android Auto. Google even counted the number of times executives mentioned the word “AI” during their keynotes. The final count? The word “Gemini" was mentioned 95 times and "AI" 92 times. But even that didn't beat last year's record for AI, which had 121 mentions.
