Samsung is preparing the ground for the launch of the next generation of its superstructure One UI 8, which will run on Android 16. There have already been many rumors about the upcoming software, and the latest leak suggests that we can look forward to new animations for the Always-on Display (AOD) and the lock screen.
According to leakera Tarun Vatse offers One UI 8 redesigned animations that make using the phone more enjoyable and efficient. In a short video shared on the X social network, it can be seen that a single tap on the display activates the AOD with an animated transition, while a double tap launches the lock screen with impressively improved effects.
For example, the new lock screen animation “stretches” the clock downwards, making the entire element feel more interactive and dynamic when double-tapped.

The current internal build is of course still in the early stages of development. It is expected that beta version will make these new features available for users to try out, even though the new features of the Camera app were revealed at Galaxy S25 Ultra, it is of course likely that they will also be part of other models, at least the higher series.
