Most smartphones come with a battery saving mode that, when enabled, adjusts system settings to reduce battery consumption and make your device last a little longer. Turning this mode on limits background app activity and syncing, delays or stops app updates and notifications from non-essential apps, lowers screen brightness, turns off location services, and more.

On most Android phones, this is all done with a single switch. While brands like Google, OnePlus, and Xiaomi offer some level of control over power saving options, Samsung goes much further in this regard.

Samsung introduced customizable power saving options as early as 2020 with the launch of the supercharger One UI 3.0. Previously devices Galaxy offered preset modes that applied a fixed set of changes to extend durability. Superstructure One UI 3 changed that by allowing users to individually turn specific power-saving features on or off.

These customizable options have remained virtually unchanged since they first appeared. Specifically, these five toggles are:

  • Turn off Always On display
  • CPU speed limit to 70 %
  • Reduce brightness by 10%
  • Turn off 5G
  • Application limitations and Dom. Fig.

With superstructure One UI 7, this list has been expanded to include three new options that you can enable/disable according to your needs:

  • Set Motion Smoothness to Standard
  • Turn on Dark Mode
  • Set screen timeout to 30 seconds

You can find all these options on your device with One UI 7 v Settings→Battery→Power Saving Mode.

If you don't want to turn individual settings on/off, you canchat phone to take care of battery management by turning on the Adaptive Power Saving Mode feature (is accessible via the three-dot menu within the Power Saving Mode screen and the Adaptive Power Saving Mode option)The feature, as described by Samsung, automatically turns power saving mode on and off based on usage patterns.
