Samsung officially unveiled the phone this week Galaxy S25 Edge. It attracts mainly with its extremely thin body or 200MPx main camera. Let's compare it with the most equipped model of the series, i.e. Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Design and processing

From a design perspective, Galaxy S25 Edge od Galaxy S25 Ultra different at first glance. Galaxy S25 Edge is significantly thinner (5,8 vs. 8,2 mm), It has slightly more rounded edges and only has two cameras on its back. (vs. four at Galaxy S25 Ultra).

In terms of build quality, both phones are similar. Both have a titanium frame, both have Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back, and both are IP68 certified, meaning they can withstand immersion in water up to 1,5m for 30 minutes. Galaxy S25 Edge However, compared to its older sibling, it boasts more durable protection for the front display in the form of the new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. According to the manufacturer Corning, this can withstand a fall onto concrete from a height of up to 1 meter.

Display

Galaxy S25 Edge got a 6,7-inch LTPO AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 px, variawith a variable refresh rate of 1–120 Hz and a peak brightness of 2600 nits. The screen has the same parameters Galaxy S25 Ultra, except it's 0,2 inches bigger. Actually, there's one more difference - the display Galaxy S25 Edge against Galaxy S25 Ultra lacks an anti-reflective coating that absorbs a large portion of glare (however, it is also missing from the models Galaxy S25 and S25+).

Performance

Galaxy S25 Edge It is powered by the super-powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is paired with 12GB of RAM and 256 or 512GB of storage. In Galaxy S25 Ultra it's the same chip with the same RAM capacity, just with a higher maxminimum storage – 1 TB. So in terms of performance, both phones should be comparable.

Cameras

One of the biggest differences between Galaxy S25 Edge a Galaxy S25 Ultra can be found in the camera area. As mentioned above, Galaxy S25 Edge It has a dual camera with a resolution of 200 and 12 MPx. (the second one plays the role ultrawide-angle lens). However, the main sensor, thanks to its high resolution, is intended to at least partially compensate for the absence of a telephoto lens - according to Samsung, it is capable of 2x lossless zoom.

Galaxy S25 Ultra In contrast, it boasts four rear cameras with a resolution of 200 MPx (it is the same sensor as the Galaxy S25 Edge).10 MPx (telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom), 50 MPx (periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom) and 50 Mpx (ultrawide angle lens). Its photo setup is thus more versatile. As for the front camera, it has a resolution of 12 MPx on both phones.

Battery

Galaxy S25 Edge has the smallest battery in the entire range due to its thin profile Galaxy S25. Its capacity is only 3900 mAh, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra It's 5000 mAh. Despite such a small battery, Samsung claims that its new phone will last a full day on a single charge. (u Galaxy S25 Ultra you can get up to two days with less intensive use).

Galaxy S25 Edge it also loses in charging speed. MaxThe maximum charging power is only 25 W. (vs. two W), which Samsung should be forgiven for with its flagships. At least the phone supports wireless and reverse wireless charging.
