Not everything always goes according to plan, and we are used to that from both the everyday and technological worlds. But what Samsung is now showing off with the update One UI 7 is actually quite tearful, and even though I'm looking for words of apology, I just can't find them.

Samsung released a new operating system for the first older models six months after Google released it. It spent four months testing it and its superstructure on the best of last year, the series Galaxy S24. The result? A critical bug that caused the company to pull the update globally before it could fix the bug. Embarrassment on behalf of One UI 7 is still ongoing and will obviously not end there. This raises serious concerns about software development itself and, indeed, its testing.

The whole delay was supposed to be so that Samsung could deliver its latest software without any bugs. In the end, it had to pull the update after a week because yes, it does contain bugs. Can you imagine a greater irony? Of course, the company is not talking about any “delay”, only the situation and frustration of all fans speaks for itself. Moreover, if such major bugs persist, it could lead fans to switch to other brands when upgrading from their current devices. While it is true that neither Apple It doesn't follow the expected pattern, and it also postpones many features to later releases. However, it doesn't delay new system updates.

Samsung doesn't have Android 15, others have Android 16 beta

For comparison: Many brands using Android in their solutions, including Honor, Motorola, Nothing, OPPO, OnePlus and Realme, have already released a stable Android 15 update for a number of their devices. While Samsung is still struggling with Android 15, Honor, OnePlus and Xiaomi have even released Android 16 betas for some devices. All this only proves Samsung's helplessness. S One UI 7 simply took an unnecessarily large bite.

What we praised Samsung for years ago can now be taken down. When you show people that you are a leader and they get used to it, it is difficult to accept such a situation with any positive response. We would understand if Samsung with One UI 7 waited for Galaxy S25 and released it for its older models right away. But since the release of the flagship series Galaxy For 2025, it's already 3 months.

What will be next?

Samsung needs to seriously rethink its approach and improve its software update process. If it aims to regain the trust of its customers, it needs to release a stable Android 16 update in QXNUMX of this year to somehow compensate for the significant delay One UI 7. And perhaps the future will make us forget this failure if we return to the well-trodden paths of the past years.
