I didn't feel like it. From the show Galaxy Watch Ultra I have a certain dislike for them in terms of how Samsung has blatantly copied its more popular competition. And since the review is subjective, I don't have to be ashamed to say it out loud. But if Galaxy Watch Ultra If they didn't look the way they do, everything would be different. They are Samsung's best watches.

Even South Koreans are only human and sometimes they just don't know where to go. And it's human. You can't be angry with the designers as much as with their management, who should have slammed the table and said: "Not like this". The bang eventually came, but too late. So let's hope so Galaxy Watch Ultra as Galaxy Buds3 a Buds3 Pro was just a rare fad that we will soon forget.

Ctrl + c, ctrl + v

Galaxy Watch Ultra they are stupid by the name itself, when Samsung simply has to copy at all costs Apple Watch Ultra. Even phones don't change that. Galaxy S Ultrabecause two years ago we had Galaxy Watch5 Prowith which Samsung wanted to burn the pond Applu using a typical designation for him. But he was not happy with it Apple Watch Ultra laughed and Samsung, even though it could have boldly continued its Pro line, did not want to. Ultra It's more than the Pro, and according to Samsung, there are so many changes that the Pro is simply not enough for the Ultra. Are you shaking your head about that too?

However, from Apple Watch Ultra here we have a square case (although a round dial), a third button that triggers selected actions, orange accessories and an almost 1:1 copied strap. Samsung even "had" to come up with its own system for attaching it. Either to make it look more like Apple, or to annoy customers more by having to buy special belts and not being able to use any. But the truth is that it is very comfortable.

On the other hand, Samsung copied the sandwich case from Garmin, which is typical especially for higher models and specifically the series Fenix. Titanium on top, titanium on the bottom, polycarbonate in between. This is also the case with the new Galaxy Watch Ultra It really is stunning. I understand the pressure to reduce weight, because the watch is still heavy, but the plastic just looks bad. You kind of get it with Garmin, but why does it have to be here? Even the protrusion around the buttons looks extremely cheap.

In terms of design, I have no idea Galaxy Watch Ultra only one positive word, and if I had to rate it on a scale from 0 to 10, where ten is the most beautiful device of all, Samsung's Ultras would get a pretty bulbous zero. Even the cat and dog look better. If you happen to want to comment on this topic, I remind you that appearance is a subjective matter and for you, Samsung's new top watch may be on the completely opposite side of the spectrum and you can rave about the opposite Apple Watch Ultra and Garmin Fenix 8. The evaluation of appearance is, has been and will always be different from person to person.

Specifications worthy of a flagship product

By the way, for completeness, the watch case is 47,4 x 47,4 mm in size with a height of 12,1 mm. The weight is 61 g. The display is 1,5" Super AMOLED with a resolution of 480 x 480px and is truly beautiful. Samsung also succeeded in the basic dial, which Ultra Applu only copies minismall and distant (at least). Even though the body is square, the display is circular, and it is slightly covered by a raised bezel. Of course, this is to prevent possible damage, because the Ultras are also designed for ultra demanding conditions. The glass is sapphire, so it should last a while. What's nice, though, is that there is practically no black frame around the display, so the display flows directly into the bezel.

The bottom contains a BioActive sensor covered in ceramic and sapphire. But why is there plastic around it again is another unanswered question. Regardless, the watch is tested according to MIL-STD 810H, so we shouldn't worry about its overall durability. Water resistance is rated at 10 ATM. Samsung says that the Watch Ultra They can operate at temperatures ranging from -20°C to 55°C and even at altitudes of 9 meters.

The chip contained is the Exynos W1000, it is five-core and is based on the 3nm manufacturing process. The watch has nothing to fault in this area. It is complemented by 2GB of RAM, and the integrated storage is 32GB. Galaxy Watch Ultra They now include L1+LG dual-frequency GPS instead of just L1 GPS. This obviously improves the accuracy of location tracking and comes closer to Garmin's solution.

How long will it last?

Battery life is listed as one of the main strengths of the watch. Galaxy Watch Ultra improved compared to the previous generation Galaxy Watch6 Classic its endurance, but compared to Galaxy Watch5 Pro does not change much here. There is a 590mAh battery, which is also present in Galaxy Watch5 Pro released two years ago, so only the efficiency of the chip can make a difference here.

If you turn off the Always On display, which you probably won't want, you get wrist-activated display, automatic brightness, heart rate measurement every 15 minutes at rest, a classic watch face and some shorter exercises, sleep tracking and of course regular communication for 72 hours. So, three days are typical for higher-end watches. With Always On, the watch can handle two days without any problems.

But you won't like charging. I always enjoy how many people state, “I'm going to take a shower, charge the watch, and the next day it'll be fine." You will be charging the Ultra for two hours, and you probably won't be doing your cleansing for that long. Although it's true that you could only do it once every two/three days with them, so it's a bit of a bummer. By the way, the watch cannot be charged with third-party wireless chargers. In this, however, he also alludes to Apple, and Garmin, so nothing new under the sun.

System and software at the top

Galaxy Watch Ultra running on the latest version Wear OS 5 with its own superstructure One UI Watch 6 from Samsung. So there is deep integration into the Samsung ecosystem, and that is the reason why you should buy a watch from the South Korean manufacturer along with your smartphone. Compared to the previous version Wear OS 4+ One UI The newer Watch 5 offers only a few UI changes, and few new features. In fact, if you've been using the Wear OS 4 or 3, you will be with Watch Ultra feel at home.

Of course, there's also an app Galaxy Wearable, in which you pair and also set the watch. In this regard, only the menus that the new Ultras allow change, such as the ability to choose what the new Action quick button will actually do. You can still trigger some reactions by double pressing or pressing and holding a button.

An interesting new addition to the feature list is Siren. You just hold down the action button and it activates a pretty loud siren. It's a safety feature that can come in handy if you get lost in the woods, injured, or stuck somewhere. And no, it's nothing original, but it's not worth criticizing because it can save a life.

Samsung Health For example, it now lets you import GPX data for detailed route navigation, and the guidance takes altitude into account. The system then lets you retrace the same route if you get lost (or to avoid getting lost). Cycling has also been improved, as you can record your own route and race against your own time. The next time you ride it, you'll get an update on how you're doing compared to last time.

There is also Galaxy AIThis, in turn, is used to determine your energy score, which is made up of various health indicators – sleep, heart rate during sleep and daily exercise. Based on these factors, you get a daily score, and if there is anything that needs your attention, the app Samsung Health will guide you through tips for improving your daily habits. Nothing you must have, but it's nice. By the way, sleep now also takes into account your variaheart rate variability.

Just stick your head out of the rear excretory system Applu

Galaxy Watch Ultra are Samsung's best smartwatches. They have a Wear OS great battery life, they have a super fast and powerful chip, they have an unbeatable feature set and they are really durable. They are just not original, they could have had a bigger screen, a regular strap mount and we would like to charge them with regular wireless chargers. But if you bite the copied design, you get the best that Samsung and Wear OS they offer and you will certainly be satisfied with the result.

Their price is also gradually falling, when we are currently somewhere around 15 thousand CZK. Opposite Apple Watch So it's a major price difference, Garmin Fenix 8 even costs twice as much. It's just a shame that Samsung can't come up with something of its own and original that we could be excited about not only in terms of functionality but also in terms of appearance. I sincerely hope that the company will not continue this trend of imitating the competition. Unification Galaxy S25 Ultra (i.e. based on leaků) and similarity One UI Unfortunately, 7 with iOS 18 suggests this.
