Waze has long been one of the most popular navigation applications, but the best navigation is different for everyone. In the case of this title, it is also due to its sophisticated warnings that alert drivers to current events on the road. To make your ride even safer, the app now receives new alerts.

Waze receives alerts for new types of cameras such as speeding, running a red light, using the wrong lane (such as a bus or high-occupancy vehicle), not wearing a seat belt or using a phone while driving. These warnings serves as a useful reminder of the traffic rules in the area. New camera types are being rolled out to the app globally for Android i iOS.

The new traffic events feature will alert you when concerts, parades, sporting events, and other events are in areas with places you've saved or recently driven through. Waze will send you an alert as soon as the event begins, with details like the cause, road closures, and real-time traffic conditions, and this information will be shared with your friends and family.macYou will be able to share with others. This feature is now available globally for both mobile versions.

Waze will soon let you navigate – with turn-by-turn directions, up-to-date traffic informationmacand hazard alerts – even when your phone is locked. This option already exists in Google Maps. In Waze’s case, “lock screen navigation” is currently being rolled out for Android and in the fall it should arrive at iOS.
